Kogani convention & tournament Roanoke, VA - June 4th through 6th 2010

We are pleased to announce the following event in Roanoke VA. Check the link under the current events section to the right often as this schedule is tentative and can change.

Kogani convention & tournament Roanoke, VA - June 4th through 6th 2010.

Location :

Ramada Inn
1927 Franklin Road SW
Roanoke, VA 24014

Time :

The anime convention will open Friday afternoon and go through Sunday around 6pm. The convention will close it's doors at 4am Friday and Saturday night and open it's doors at 12pm the following day. Registration for each game will be available up to an hour before each event.

Games :

Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, BlazBlue, 3rd Strike, HDR, TvC, Guilty Gear XXAC, and Smash Bros Brawl.

We are looking at the possibility of team tournaments depending on interest and time.

Console :

PS3 for T6 and BB. 360 for SSFIV and HDR. Other games will be run on PS2 other than TvC obviously.

Venue Fee :

You will need to register for the anime convention in order to compete in the tournaments. It's 15 dollars if you pre-register for the weekend, 25 dollars at the door for the entire weekend, otherwise 20 dollars per day. I would advise pre-registration at http://www.koalhtahk.net/koalhtahk/kogani/registration.html to take advantage of the lower weekend price.

Tournament Fees :

SSF4 $10, T6 $10, BB $5, 3s $5, HDR $5, TvD $5, GGXXAC, $5. If we have team tournaments the fee will be $10 per team member.

Payouts are 60/30/10. Winning teams of the team tournaments will receive the full pot and will divide amongst their members as they see fit.

Tournament Rules :

Bring your own wired controller(stick or pad). You are responsible for your own equipment.
Double elimination.
Best 2/3 (T6 is 3/5) rounds,2/3 matches, until Losers and Winners Finals then 3/5.

Specific tournament rules:

Super Street Fighter IV (Singles)
Winner keeps the same character - the loser can choose a new character.
All characters are tournament legal!
No Macro buttons other than Default, 3ppp 3kkk only. (This means no mapping one button grabs, or one button Focus attacks.)

Super Street Fighter IV Teams (this all depends on time alotment and interest at the event. We usually have a sign up sheet out to see how many people enter, thus deciding if we'll even do a teams event).

3v3 Teams: You must have 3 players to compete in the 3v3 tournament
3v3 Teams: This is NOT a regional tournament - any team of 3 will be accepted
Teams: Each team must have a list of the players and characters of their teams and those players MUST STAY with the characters they choose throughout the entire tournament - all unique characters per team Teams: This will be a "knockdown" style tournament - the team plays until they run out of teammates - winner goes to the back of the line, loser is eliminated from the match

Super Street Fighter II HD Remix
Winner keeps the same character - the loser can change characters
Akuma is BANNED from tournament play

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Winner keeps the same character, but can change super arts - the loser can change characters
Gill is BANNED from tournament play
The in-game "Judgment" feature will NOT be determine the outcome of a match - another match must be played to determine the true winner.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
Winner keeps same character but can change order, loser can reselect.

Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion
Winner keeps the same character - the loser can change characters
If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match judge will enforce blind random stage select.

Choosing sides:

Players will decide amongst themselves which side (1p) or (2p) they will play on. If an agreement can't be made then a coin will be flipped by a judge.

Double blind character select is not mandatory but will be available if requested.

Street Fighter 3rd Strike (7:00 PM)
SSF2 HD Remix (8:00 PM)
Guilty Gear XXAC (10:00pm)

Saturday:
TVC: (12:00 pm)
BlazBlue CT: (2:00 pm)
Tekken 6: (3:00)
SSF4: (4:00 PM)
SSF4 Teams:(After SSF4 singles. Depending on sign up interest)
